Passing Your Values Forward

Passing Your Values Forward

After a lifetime of building wealth, being intentional with how it is passed on should be a priority to help protect your interests, values, preferences, and family. Wealth transfers impact families and financial lives for generations. How you establish your legacy or financial estate plan can impact the time, relationships, and conflicts of your beneficiaries. Protect your values by creating a Legacy Plan that takes finances, family, and values into account.

How We Help

How We Help

Ensuring that you have a Legacy Plan established is a key part of our financial planning process. We are not Estate Planning Attorneys but will work with yours or connect you to one if needed.

Collaboration with Estate Attorneys

We work closely with some trusted estate planning attorneys we can connect you to. If you work with someone already, we’ll happily coordinate where appropriate.

Wealth.com Access

This service available to our clients offers reviews of estate planning documents in place, and/or allows clients to create basic wills, trusts, and establish powers of attorney.

Beneficiary Designation Reviews

We always want to make sure that your beneficiary designations are in line with your estate plan and how you want your money to be passed on.

Inheritance Strategies

You want to avoid leaving your money to the government. We support you through tax efficient distribution strategies and keep you updated on ever-evolving tax inheritance rules so your money goes to the people that matter.

A Harmonized Strategy

Legacy Planning takes your financial values and priorities into the next generation. Because it intersects with Wealth Management, Tax-Efficient Planning, and Risk Management, we consider it a core pillar of building your financial plan.

It is our goal to be a “conductor” for your financial life, making sure all the pieces of your financial life are working together towards your value-driven goals. We will look at seven service pillars and follow a process of Discover→Design→Deploy to build an intentional plan aligned with what matters most to you. We call this process the Harmony FORMula.

What is legacy planning?

Planning how your assets, values, and wishes are carried forward.

What is a beneficiary?

A beneficiary is the person or organization designated to receive assets.

How do you check on beneficiary designations?

For accounts we manage, we review them regularly to ensure alignment with your plan. For any policy or account you have, beneficiaries should be listed somewhere in your paperwork and any professionals working with you (e.g. your banker or insurance agent) should be able to look it up for you as well.

Do you provide estate planning documents like wills and trusts?

We do not offer estate planning advice or services. We work alongside estate planning attorneys when needed. We’re also able to offer you access to the tools to do it yourself through our Wealth.com subscription.

How often should my legacy plan be reviewed?

At least every few years or after major life changes like births and deaths.

Can legacy planning help reduce taxes for my heirs?

Possibly! Thoughtful planning can improve tax efficiency for future generations.
